If you’re experiencing the unpleasant situation of having dirty water failing to drain away through plugholes, or your toilet not flushing properly, you have probably tried all the DIY remedies, like a plunger, white vinegar mixed with baking soda, bleach or some other harsh chemical.
If nothing has shifted the blockage and your drains are still clogged it’s likely that the drainage system is obstructed further down the pipeline in an outside location that is out of reach. It’s time to call in the local drain clearance professionals!
We are leading drain clearance specialists based in the city of Bath, covering the whole of north east Somerset, Bristol and the surrounding area. We’re on call to with our high-tech CCTV camera equipment to look into your drains and find blockages, then use our skills, expertise and specialised apparatus to clear away the clogs.
With more than 15 years’ industry experience, there’s not much we don’t know about drains, and we’ve yet to meet a blockage that got the better of us. Besides clearing your blocked drains and sinks we can give you a great deal of free advice about how to prevent the situation from arising again.
We understand that a blocked drain is not only inconvenient, but also a health hazard, so when you call us for help we will react as quickly as possible. Our team of trained drain engineers will arrive with a van equipped with everything they’ll need to find the blockage and eliminate it.
After ascertaining that the blockage is more than just plughole or plumbing deep (which we can easily fix) we’ll deploy our CCTV camera equipment to explore the drain pipes further afield and find the root of the problem.
In fact, the blockage may be down to just that – roots that have grown into the pipe and accumulated debris, grease and soap scum.
When we’ve found the blockage we can use drain rodding or powerful drain jetting (or a combination) to clear the obstruction, leaving the pipe not just clear but clean too.
If the blockage was discerned to be caused by damage or deterioration of the pipes we will recommend appropriate drain repairs.
The best way to deal with a blocked drain is to prevent it happening in the first place.
Very often drains are blocked because people have flushed things down the sink or toilet that should rather be put in the bin. We’ve found pipes blocked by babies’ nappies, sanitary products and non-biodegradable wipes, for example.
Things like fragmented egg shells and coffee grounds – in fact any food waste – is bad news for sinks; they can get stuck and begin a build-up in the pipes, which is made worse if you pour fat or oil down the plughole too.
Hair is something else that causes problems with drains in bathrooms, particularly when it becomes entangled with soap scum.
Prevention is better than cure and we always advise our customers to use plughole guards or traps to keep pipes clear, and if possible invest in a waste disposal unit for left over food. Pour grease and oil into a sealable container and bin it.
